October is right around the corner….
And that means it’s almost Connected Educator Month!
Edcamps are a significant part of the Connected Educator Movement. With over 500 face-to-face events in dozens of countries, educators everywhere are coming together to learn and share organically.
Edcamps are unconference events designed for educators. The schedule is built on the day of the event by the participants. Everyone in attendance is both a learner and a sharer. It’s a great, active way to improve your teaching practice and find like-minded educators.
This year, the Edcamp Foundation, an Educator Innovator partner, has teamed up with MIT Media Lab and the National Writing Project to offer the 2nd Annual #Edcamp Online. While Edcamps are usually face-to-face sessions, this one will connect people from any place and location. The software, called “unhangouts,” leverages Google Hangouts but adds special functionality to truly simulate the Edcamp experience in an online space.
As always, attendance is free and all are welcome.
Mark your calendars for October 25, 2014 from 12:30 p.m. EDT-2:30 p.m. EDT and Register here!
