Teens are continually finding new social media platforms.
But no matter the network, there are both concerns about how teens use new technologies and a realization of the opportunities for collaboration and peer learning. Social Media Week Chicago explored these issues and more in a panel at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Two of the panelists, Sam Dyson, director of the Hive Chicago Learning Network, and danah boyd, a principal researcher for Microsoft Research and author of “It’s Complicated: The Social Lives of Networked Teens” join WBEZ’s Tech Shift to share some of their observations.
