The #techquity hashtag has seen an increase in traffic and attention recently, with the Alliance for Excellence in Education employing it to foreground issues of equity on Digital Learning Day this year. Also, Sam Dyson, director of the Hive Chicago Learning Network, sprinkled “#techquity” and “techquity” into posts about his Digital Learning Day conversation with Arne Duncan, U.S. Secretary of Education. In this webinar, Remi Holden, assistant professor of Information and Learning Technologies at the University of Colorado at Denver, and Joe Dillon, instructional technologist and teacher-consultant with the Denver Writing Project, discussed the emergence of the #techquity conversation in an effort to unpack its short history and clarify key concepts and terms.
